Duck Funkin Donuts

It's not a Tweetup, a meetup or anything of the sort. It is a chance to help out a nice local business, John's Space Age Donuts (8120 Floyd in OP, just off of Metcalf by Villa Capri and behind Winsteads) as they begin their fight against the behemoth of the donut world opening up down the street. Show up at John's tomorrow (Wednesday, May 19) and buy a dozen donuts. You may even see the sexy Meesha, the unsexy Chimpotle or the 52 Donuts lady. You may even see me, but you'll probably never know it.

If you don't  live in the neighborhood or pass through the neighborhood, visit your local donut store tomorrow, the behemoth is on the way.

Went to DD on their free day, and their apple fritter doesn't hold a candle to John's apple fritter.

I will still patronize John's until the end!

DD can not be stopped. You will be assimilated.

Besides, no one goes to DD for donuts. It's all about the coffee.

I was actually surprised that the coffee at John's Space Age was as good as it was.

Aww, that's my old hood. Loved Villa Capri too. What behemoth where?

Oh duh. DD! Well a DD openingr anywhere won't steal my donut business. Anyone know how Villa Capri is doing?

Sorry I missed Bull, Chimpo, and DLC!

My wife (still not used to saying that yet) and I each picked up a mixed dozen and stayed for a few minutes to say hi to the Russian and the 52 Donuts blogger.

Was pleasantly surprised by the coffee, and the apple fritter was indeed crazy delicious. The 10 remaining donuts lasted about 5 minutes in the break room.

We are big fans of Space Age - the only donuts we eat. I just had to de-lurk to tell a story about John: we went late on a Saturday morning about 2 years ago - I was pregnant and craving an apple fritter. They were out. John gave me a free one from the back of the shop that was 'too small to sell'. I nearly cried with delight! We won't go anywhere else ...
