Just Another Day in Paradise

While Dunkin Donuts seems to get all the donut media hype here in KC, another donut franchise has recently opened up on the Kansas side of the Metro.

I got a postcard in the mail a few days ago announcing the opening of Paradise Donuts at 12126 W 87th St Pkwy, Lenexa, KS 66215. It is located in a strip mall in the NW corner of 87th & Quivira, right next to Cafe Augusta. The space was previously occupied by Steve's Delicious Donuts.

Their first day open was Thursday, March 4, and they are celebrating the grand opening from then through Sunday by offering half price donuts and coffee. I stopped by for a dozen this morning and got out spending a bit over $4. I killed a blueberry fritter and cinnamon-coated cake before even getting around to posting this. Definitely worth checking out.

Before I visit ... as good as Steve's?

Not at all ... don't waste your money. Their donuts are terrible.

I was a frequent Steve's donut guy, but Paradise is hands down far better than Steve's. They have an excellent selection of donuts and the cinnamon rolls are the best in town imo. I'm glad there is finally a good donut shop around here.

Steve's donuts was Lamar's recipe...fine if you wanted the same old donut. Paradise donut's are far better and actually provide a great selection of donuts. I will be going back on a regular basis.

I went there a saw a roach crawling around in the lobby. I about threw up. The place is dirty and the donuts suck.

The counter help was very rude to me when I came in. Their customer service is terrible. The donuts are average to below average. I couldn't even eat all of mine. Save your money for some Lamar's donuts

I wish it was still a Lamar's. Lamar's donuts are so much better. Dry, sriveled up donuts is definitely not my idea of "Paradise".

Wow I wonder if the last several comments are from a Lamar's owner??? Couldn't be more obvious....

I can only assume the ones leaving poor comments on here about Paradise Donuts have never been there. The donuts are very good and fairly priced. The staff is very friendly and the place is clean.
